November was an especially active month for the PHOENIX project, with two important step taking place behind the scenes: our 6th General Assembly and the second Advisory Board meeting.
Second Advisory Board meeting — Expert input to guide the project
We started with our second Advisory Board meeting.
During the session, partners provided updates on the project’s progress since last year, followed by an interactive activity developed to engage AB members in strategic reflection. We presented six potential use-case scenarios for PHOENIX technologies — ranging from self-healing materials in different environments to sensor-enabled diagnostics and digital twin applications — and invited AB members to assess their feasibility, relevance, and potential market applicability.
Their insights were helpful: they helped us understand which directions appear most promising from an industrial and real-world perspective.
We hope to continue this exchange soon through more focused deep-dive meetings, where AB members can further support us in shaping how PHOENIX results could be implemented beyond the lab.
6th General Assembly — Hosted in Istanbul & online
Still in November, PHOENIX partners met for a hybrid General Assembly, with part of the consortium joining in person at ENWAIR in Istanbul, while others attended online. A big thank you to ENWAIR for the warm welcome and for guiding the partners through their facilities and laboratory work, an inspiring opportunity to see research progress up close.
Throughout the day, each Work Package presented its advancements over the past months, giving the whole consortium a clear picture of where the project stands as we move deeper into the technical development phase. Much of the afternoon was dedicated to focused technical discussions and bilateral alignments, ensuring that materials, sensors, triggers, validation plans, and BMS development are progressing coherently across teams.
It was a productive meeting, helping to clarify next steps and strengthen internal collaboration as PHOENIX enters its next stage.
Looking Ahead
With both meetings completed, November has laid strong foundations for the months ahead. As development continues, the consortium is committed to building on this momentum, ensuring that PHOENIX innovations move closer to real-world implementation, sustainability impact, and long-term European battery resilience.
Stay tuned for more updates! 🚀🔋
