PHOENIX is glad to take part in the 1st Clustering Event – The Battery Ecosystem Summit: Fostering Cross-Project Collaboration, organised by the FULL-MAP project. The event will be held online during Sustainable Places 2025 (8–10 October 2025).
This 90-minute session aims to strengthen synergies across EU-funded projects working on battery innovation, creating opportunities to share knowledge, avoid duplication of efforts, and foster joint activities. The workshop will particularly gather projects from the BATT4EU and BATTERY 2030+ initiatives, contributing to building a stronger European battery research ecosystem.
The Battery Ecosystem Summit will provide the opportunity to exchange perspectives on:
-
Data Integration and Modelling: how PHOENIX’s real-time sensor and self-healing data can contribute to predictive battery performance.
-
Proactive Self-Healing: from damage detection to autonomous repair.
-
Interface Evolution: monitoring electrode interfaces during cycling via embedded sensors.
On behalf of PHOENIX, our scientific coordinator Joris De Hoog will join the discussion. His presentation, titled “Sensors for Smart batteries: options explored in PHOENIX”, will highlight PHOENIX’s efforts in developing specific sensors and self-healing triggering devices designed to:
-
Capture degradation phenomena in real time
-
Trigger tailored self-healing actions
-
Integrate with battery management systems for higher safety and performance
We are looking forward to contributing to this joint effort to foster collaboration across projects and strengthen the impact of European research in the battery field.
