Last week, the PHOENIX project joined the BATTERY 2030+ Annual Conference in Münster, a key gathering of researchers and innovators working toward the next generation of sustainable, high-performance batteries.

Our presence was visible not only through discussions but also through our PHOENIX roll-up, showcased alongside those of our sister projects. Representing the project, our scientific coordinator Joris de Hoog took part in a joint session with HEALINGBAT and SALAMANDER, highlighting how self-healing and sensor technologies can improve battery safety, performance, and sustainability.

We were also proud to see strong contributions from our partner DLR, whose experts (Svitlana Krüger, Pinank Sohagiya, Neil Wood, and Bilal Tasdemir) presented two insightful posters. Both posters sparked engaging discussions on materials innovation and smart cell design, reflecting PHOENIX’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of battery research.

A highlight of the Annual Conference was the guided tour of the MEET Battery Research Center, offering a close-up look at how cutting-edge science and pilot-scale production intersect.

We’re proud to be part of this forward-thinking community, and excited to keep contributing to the future of batteries in Europe and beyond.
