Recently, the PHOENIX project organised its inaugural Advisory Board (AB) meeting, marking a great moment in its journey towards developing EU sustainable batteries. Led by the project and the AB group coordinator, the meeting delved into key project objectives and open questions from the consortium to the external experts.

This article summarises the exchanges from the meeting.

Discovering: the project and the team behind it

We started the meeting with a welcoming session where all participants introduced themselves. We shared the diverse expertise within the project team, and the AB members presented their backgrounds and experience. This was an important step in setting the stage for a collaborative and insightful discussion.

Project overview and open discussions

Our scientific coordinator, gave a brief presentation on the PHOENIX project, outlining its general objectives, the desired outcomes, challenges, and the methodologies we employ. This presentation aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the project’s scope and goals.

The core of the meeting was dedicated to the various Work Packages (WPs) presenting their current status. Each WP team shared what they have worked on so far and highlighted key points for discussion with the AB members. This was a crucial part of the meeting as it allowed the project team to receive valuable feedback and suggestions from the external experts.

Wrapping up: key takeaways and future directions

We thank the AB members for their participation and support. Their insights willl be very valuable and will aid in navigating the project’s challenges and achieving our goals. This advisory board meeting marked the first step for the PHOENIX project for a continued collaboration with the AB members throughout the project’s duration.
